BASIC OFFSHORE SAFETY & EMERGENCY TRAINING
(SEA SURVIVAL, FIRE FIGHTING AND FIRST AID & CPR TRAINING)

 
COURSE AIM
To provide participants with survival and emergency training in order to prepare them for an emergency in an offshore environment. The course covers Sea Survival, Basic Fire Fighting and Basic First Aid & CPR.
 
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Course module is guidelines set with IMO/STCW95, UKOOA, OPITO and OGP.
By the end of the two days program, participants will have an understanding and a through knowledge of the following

  • Hazard of Over water Operations
  • Surface abandonment
  • Sea Survival skills and techniques
  • Life-raft procedures & management
  • Lifejackets
  • EPIRB’s & ELT’s
  • Search & Rescue (SAR)
  • Safe use of pyrotechnics
  • Recovery
  • Fire Fighting theory
  • Practical use of fire extinguishers, fire blankets
  • Fire Fighting Practice in using fire hose/hydrant Using, don & doff breathing apparatus
  • Expired air resuscitation (EAR)
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • Control of bleeding
  • Management of unconscious casualties
  • Management of shock
  • Management of burns and fractures
  • Management of unconscious casualties

 
COMPETENCY
All participants must demonstrate the ability

  • to re right a life raft unassisted,
  • to use portable fire fighting appliances to fight fire,
  • to enter confined space area for breathing apparatus exercise including rescue techniques,
  • to conduct EAR and CPR in accordance with appropriate internationality recognized standards and
  • complete a questionnaire in order to pass the course.

 
PRE-REQUISITES
Participants must shows healthy condition, however our medical doctor will check the participants condition prior to commence the training course
 
METHOD OF TRAINING
This course is conducted in two phases.
An initial phase is a one and half day theory course covering all aspects of the fire fighting and first aid, HUET and survival at sea.
 
These classroom training utilities demonstrations of all equipment and discussion on the uses and method of use have the emergency equipment, and video and OHP/LCD presentation to assist.
 
The rest one and half days, second phase is an entirely practical training session conducted a water environment, Fire Fighting and CPR where all participants are required to practice and demonstrate the application of all techniques learned in both sessions.
 
TEXT AND PRESENTATION
The course notes had been set up for English and Bahasa manual.
 
CERTIFICATE
A wall sized certificate and three different wallet sized certificates; Sea Survival, Fire Fighting and First Aid & CPR courses will be issued for participants who passed from the above requirements. Certificate validity for 3 years.
